No es un adiós, sólo un hasta pronto

Despertamos en Estambul, una ciudad de 18 millones de habitantes muy caótica, pero a la vez llena de vitalidad.

Si cada esquina guarda magníficos monumentos y siglos de historia, Estambul es también una ciudad moderna, con una buena red de transporte público, terrestre y marítimo, que usamos y disfrutamos.

En el poco tiempo que pasamos, pudimos disfrutar de Agia Sofía, la cisterna basilical, las mezquitas de Sultanahmet y Suleyman, y navegar por el Bósforo y el Cuerno de Oro.

Esta movilidad Erasmus ha cumplido con creces su cometido. Hemos conocido Bursa, una ciudad casi desconocida fuera de Turquía, pero con gran relevancia; histórica que le da haber sido la primera capital del Imperio Otomano; gastronómica, por ser la cuna del Iskender kebap; y política, por ser la sede del Armisticio de Mudanya que selló la paz entre Turquía y Grecia.

Hemos tenido la oportunidad de conocer e interactuar con estudiantes turcos que en todo momento han mostrado una sincera cordialidad y el deseo de enseñarnos las similitudes y diferencias entre nuestras culturas.

This is not a goodbye, only a see you soon

We woke up in Istanbul, a city of 18 million inhabitants, very chaotic, but at the same time full of vitality.

If every corner holds magnificent monuments and centuries of history, Istanbul is also a modern city, with a good public transport network, by land and sea, which we used and enjoyed.

In the short time we spent, we were able to enjoy Hagia Sophia, the basilica cistern, the mosques of Sultanahmet and Suleyman, and we sailed along the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn.

This Erasmus mobility has more than fulfilled its purpose. We got to know Bursa, a city almost unknown outside Turkey, but with great relevance: historical, as it was the first capital of the Ottoman Empire; gastronomic, as it is the birthplace of the Iskender kebap; and political, as it was the site of the Armistice of Mudanya that sealed the peace between Turkey and Greece.

We have had the opportunity to meet and interact with Turkish students who at all times have shown sincere cordiality and a desire to teach us about the similarities and differences between our cultures.
